Founded in 1992 by Newcastle born Rolex Trained Watchmaker Chris Rowell. The Watch and Jewellery Centres first branch was within the prestigious Metro Centre Development (Gateshead), three miles from Newcastle. Dedicated to providing direct access to expert technicians, without dealing with untrained sales persons in high street jewelers, the Watch Repair Centre soon opened branches within Eldon Square shopping centre Newcastle and in Middlesbrough, Hartlepool, East Kilbride (near Glasgow) and Glenrothes, Fife (north of Edinburgh).

To support the Watch and Jewellery Centres growing branch network a modern state of art workshop facility was opened in Newcastle city centre. Boasting the latest pressure testing, cleaning and electronic timeing equipment the Newcastle workshop allowed the Watch and Jewellery Centre group to deliver an unrivaled level of service and expertees directly to the customer.
